About this product:
"I am not a professional carpenter. Just a weekend warrior... I had cut up 20 feet of beautiful cornice trying to get my first corner to fit. I could not do it. I talked with professionals and they all told me to cope the joints. I just did not want to do that. Thanks to the internet I found the Magic Mitre box. I made my first mitre cut this afternoon. IT FIT THE FIRST TIME! You can have my electric mitre saw.... But I will fight you for my Magic Mitre. Thanks for a great invention. Very happy user."

Magic Mitre - Instructions

MAINTENANCE
It is essential that you check each time before you use to ensure that both looking screws are firmly locked in position. You must therefore most frequently clean under the locking screws and remove all dust and waste material with the aid of a dry brush.

To ensure the Saw Guide moves within its track it should be removed and cleaned with a dry brush. The posts that guide the Saw are designed to wear and can be rotated by bringing in a new wearing edge. Simply undo the 8 screws with the aid of a suitable screwdriver (not provided) and whilst ensuring you do not break the various components, carefully take the Saw Guide assembly apart. Then turn each post 45 degrees and reassemble.

When reassembling the Saw Guide Assembly, the long guide slot in the top of the Saw Guide should be directly over the long guide slot in the bottom component. This way the pivot points will be directly aligned to accommodate the workpiece holders.

Always ensure the 8 screws are fully tightened.

PROBLEM SOLVING
If the pivoting workpiece holders do not lock in position, check underneath the large Black Base so as to ensure the two red locking plates are correctly applied and that you can see the hexagonal shape of the nuts in the locking plate.

If you cannot see the hexagonal shape of the nut, undo the screw and turn the locking plate over so that the hexagonal shape of the nut can be seen when assembled.

If the workpiece holders do not pivot backwards and forwards to their full extent, carry out the following inspection:

  • With the product fully assembled, place it on a workbench in front of you with the words ‘Magic Mitre’ in the large black base facing you so that you can red the words Magic Mitre.
  • Then simply check to ensure the workpiece holders are also facing you so that you can read the warning ‘Do Not Cut Yourself’.
  • Finally, check to ensure the longer of the two slots in the top red Saw Guide Assembly is at the end nearest to you.
  • If the pivoting workpiece holders do not go past 45 degrees recheck your assembly with the instructions and remember the long slot in the Saw Guide must be at the front ( the end nearest to you)
