Troubleshooting:

When I lift the trays, all of the litter falls to the floor.
If this happens, it means that the trays were not oriented properly to begin with.  Ensure that the adjacent trays are always positioned, (oriented) 180° to one another.

The slots in the bottom get clogged and / or blocked by wet litter.
The cat litter is not deep enough.  Add more litter to the litter box.

The litter is too wet, and does not sift through properly.
You are not using clumping cat litter.  Throw out the litter and replace it with any brand of clumping cat litter.

There is a dusty residue on the floor when I lift the litter box.
This can be caused by one of three things: 

• Brand new trays have some static electricity.  This may cause litter dust to stick to the underside of the tray.  This static will disappear over time with use. 
• The trays may have become separated while being handled, (for instance when removing the spill guard).  Make sure that you don't separate the trays containing the litter when you sift or when you handle the litter box.
• There is not enough litter in the trays.  The molding process can sometimes cause the trays to bow slightly.  The weight of the litter helps them to butt up against one another, ensuring that a perfect seal is formed.
