The Polish wood market deeply relies on the construction sector for its development with a particular demand for wood materials and finished wood products. Over the recent years, the most vigorous segments of the market have been the wooden windows and doors, the flooring materials and the structural wood products.
This was made possible by the combined used of wood with other kind of materials, which opens doors for innovative products with enhanced functionalities.
Involved at every stage of the construction, sawnwood processing is the most commonly used method, especially when it comes to laminate materials in width, thickness or length.
Besides, Poland has emphasized the advantages of using wood in residential buildings. More than 700 companies are involved in this initiative, including wooden frame house, log house and prefabricated house manufacturers. Every year, the industry generates over 5000 new wooden houses, mostly for the export markets with strong demand such as Germany, Sweden and Norway.
Future developments appear to be consistent with the integration of wood materials in public facilities, with couple of projects already in the pipeline.
